Daveth had arranged to meet up with Ser Adham Daleford, having liked what he'd heard of that house, and its heir. Their plan was for a gentle walk, with the fresh air and light exercise helping the injured knight recover.

Naturally, Daveth had more than one objective. House Daleford's blood and sacrifice had brought them much influence, and House Coldbrook needed all the influential friends it could get. While he was getting to know the man, he made sure to present himself in a manner he felt would give the best impression.

[So, this is an intrigue. Getting the mechanics started now.

Ser Adham pressed his guest earnestly, keen to secure the full weight of House Coldbrook's support given Ser Jorah's overtures.

Ser Adham is pleasant company, but not quite on Daveth's level intellectually. A straightforward, honourable doer. From their conversation, Daveth can ascertain two interesting pieces of information. Firstly, that ADham is only partially aware of the depths of his family's difficulties, if what Daveth hears is even half true.

Secondly, he bears House Darry some residual ill-will for the standing beside the Faith Militant against his family. From his dealings with both houses, Daveth could drive a rapprochement or a wedge between them quite easily.

[OOC: Scattering story seeds merrily! Daveth wins the intrigue and a chance to make friends/play worshippers of the Seven against one another to make things easier for Blackwood and Coldbrook]

Daveth considers the matter while discussing things, and shares his prior dealing with Lord Darry with Ser Adham, describing him as devout, but pragmatic. While undoubtedly hating House Coldbrook, he was willing to make a deal against the Faith Militant when it was in his interest.

He then lays out his plan. House Daleford had invested heavily in farms, and needs money and friends. House Darry has local influence and contacts, and their finances were reasonably untouched by the recent conflict. House Blackwood and Bracken have a need for a long-term source of food while they both sort their land and finances out, once the current glut returns to normal levels. So, House Daleford uses House Darry as their local agent in distributing their food to the area. House Darry provides credit to Houses Blackwood and Bracken for the food where needed, meaning they end up with both houses in their pocket, at least for a time, and Houses Blackwood and Bracken get a steady supply of food at a reasonable price once the current surplus ends.

And House Coldbrook gets the prestige from setting up the deal in the first place.

[OOC: Note that I discussed this with Reader before posting, and the plan is actually feasible.]
