[size=150:nqrfqalo]Round 1
Rickart Nayland, sensing the superior skill of his opponent, attempted to ride aggressively, hoping that the added leverage would help dislodge Ser Niall Lucas from his saddle. He received a vicious blow from the knight, but was able to roll with the hit and stay solidly in his saddle. He was able to take a few gulps of air before his next round began.

Ser Niall Lucas, sensing that his superior skill with a lance would be helpful here, decided to take a defensive approach to help outlast Lord Rickart and the others at the tournament, as he had heard that Ser Kevan was a mighty jouster. He took the blow with some effect, but was able to stay in the saddle

[size=150:nqrfqalo]Round 2

Rickart Nayland, having been hit hard from the last round, decides to go low in the saddle, hoping to avoid any further injury from the skilled knight. Unfortunately due to his defensive posture he shatters his lance on Ser Niall Lucas shield, but then takes a very solid hit, his shield arm makes a popping sound from the force of the blow. Wincing in the pain he jerks from the knights vicious blow, falling from the saddle. The force he hits the ground with causes another crunching sound

Ser Niall Lucas, sensing that his opponent was doing poorly, rode straight for his opponent, Hitting him solidly and riding past with no further issue. Rounding the lane he looks back and sees Lord Rickart on the ground and raises his broken lance in triumph.

(Theomore has already stated he was going after the PC's. I doubt he would roll higher then a 22, (he has a very slim chance on 4d6) and this is just grinding npc:'s. We can edit out Ser kevan if needs be. even if Ser Theomore chooses this lane he only has 5d6 which means roughtly 4 % chance of meeting the challenger and 1.5 % chance of beating him, safe to say that it is reasonable to move things along, especially with how many NPC's we have to run through Razz )

Kevan sits on his trusty black horse, his helm and armour equally black except for the golden suns stylized on the left side of his helmet and the chestplate of his armour. He greets his opponent with a nod and waves at the crowd. As the signal comes up, he likewise leads his steed into a charge, lowering his lance.

[Disregard comment, but as Theo points out, there are some more dice to be rolled by Niall]

[Not exactly, Ser Niall comes in before you in this lane due to better status and defeated him, though it looks like Arlyn is forgetting the jousting 101, first you must subtract the training penalty, then you must add Animal Handling to the mix. Which leaves him with 9k4]

Both lances connect as the two knights close in on each other and break with a loud crack. Ser Kevan holds on to his steed, deflecting the hard blow with his shield. His opponent is not so lucky, catching the lance on his shoulder, which leaves him stumbling from his saddle, falling hard on the ground.
As the crowd cheers, Kevan waves once, before dismounting. He checks on his opponent, who is already tended to by a rushed in maester. The Marsten knight walks over to the main stands and takes the seat assigned to the current champion of lane 3, waiting for new challengers to come forwards.

Ser Kevan did not have to wait very long, before another challenger rode forward to show his might. Ser Syron Vypern, known as 'the Red Toad' - a combination of his wild red hair and his coat of arms depicting a black toad on a green field - tapped the Lyras shield below Kevan's seat. The knight was a bannerman of House Frey and obviously eager to show his prowess against a worthy opponent.

The Red Toad launches into a desperate charge against the Valeman, hoping to make a name for himself as the man who unhorsed the noted jouster, Ser Kevan Lyras. He feels confident, his lance seems well placed... but in the split second he has to see what is happening it doesn't seem to do much... in his distraction at his ineffable ineffectiveness, he all but falls out of the saddle on his own accord...

Kevan's lance struck the black toad on the red toad's shield lifting the poor knight into the air before he landed on his back. Dyron's own lance was well placed indeed, but with the experience of many jousts, Kevan adjusted and held on in his saddle.

Ser Dorran Deddings - known among the young ladies of his family's lands as 'toad face', an apt but unfortunate nickname first minted by his somewhat older sister Darla when they were but children - is Ser Kevan's next opponent.

EDIT: this might be needed, though I probably could have just put it at the start of the next pass... especially if it needs to be modified for injuries and such.

Kevan opts for a more defensive approach to prevent that one lucky opponent suddenly ends his run in this journey. The men ride and the lances burst as both hit their target, although neither knight falls. Experts agree that Kevan's lance was placed a little bit more accurate, but neither men seem hurt.

Following the same strategy again, the Marsten knight sits comofortably in his saddle, deflecting the lance easily with his shield. His own lance on the other hand, finds an opening and hits the Dedding knight right on his breastplate. Riding high in his saddle, 'Toad Face' struggles with his balance and falls from his steed. It took two rounds, but Ser Kevan prevails, returning to his seat as the current champion of Lane 3.

That was the fourth joust on Lane 3. We have a total of 20 over three days. I'd say three more on the first day. There is one more KoQ coming, followed by 12 regular knights and 3 hedge knights. Ereth, do you have any more names you'd like us to include (and attach silly nicknames to), or should we make them up as we go?

The next challenger of Kevan, was a young knight from Horroway's town, Ser Dromen Roote. The young man was clad in a polished plate armour, his shield showing the two-headed horse of his family. But unlike the official coat-of-arms of his house, his horse was on a field of blue. The man tapped Kevan's shield and issued his challenge in a booming voice: "
I challenge Ser Kevan Lyras, the knight of House Marsten!"
