Ser Gilbar acknowledges lord Marsten strength, but he knows he also left a mark on him. Taking a moment to rest he changes his tactic.

By some blessing a last minute adjustment blunts what would have been a dangerous blow. Ben feels the gods breath ripple down his spine.

[ooc]Tell that to orokos!! That was a no damage to Ser Gilbar correct?[/ooc]

Some mishap in the last moment caused his lance to steer out of his mark, but not by much as the hit was still solid. He will repeat his first tactic in hopes of this time besting the lord for good, by risking getting hit, but landing a harder hit in return.

Cold fingers reach out and right Lord Marsten before He topples from his horse. His hit while breaking a the lance compares little to Gilbar's shattering strike. Wincing Ben removes his helm, his left arm tucked close to his torso.

"
Well fought Ser."
He smiles as best he can through the distracting pain.

Nah, he went aggressive rather than High in Saddle.

However, by my count, it's 5-5 in DoS?

[OOC: I count it as 5/5 as well, due to the first DP spent.

Pass 1:
LBM: 19 vs PR 12, 2 DoS;
16 - 10AR = 6 damage &
TN 12 Ride, passed (barely - in hindsight this would have been the optimal point to spend a DP, but I wouldn't have either, not knowing what was coming)
SGR: 22 vs PR 16, 2 DoS;
16 - 10AR = 6 damage &
TN 12 Ride, passed

LBM recovers 3 [8/11]
SGR recovers 3 [9/12]

Pass 2:
LBM: 19 vs PR 14, 2 DoS;
16 - 10AR = 6 damage &
TN 12 Ride, passed
SGR: 20* vs PR 16, 1 DoS;
8 - 10AR = 0 damage &
TN 9 Ride, passed (* reduced from 26 by DP)

LBM recovers 3 [11/11]
SGR recovers 3 [6/12]

Pass 3:
LBM: 15 vs PR 12, 1 DoS;
8 - 10AR = 0 damage &
TN 9 Ride, passed
SGR: 24 vs PR 16, 2 DoS;
16 - 10AR = 6 damage &
TN 12 Ride, passed* (with DP spent)

No injury needed, Ben. Also, if your DP dropped his attack again, it would reduce him to 1 DoS, you would stay mounted (TN drops to 9) AND win on DoS (5 to 4)

I don't see the DP spent on first round.

Pass 1
LBM 2 DoS
SGR 2 DoS
Pass 2
LBM 2 DoS – Spent 1 DP = -1d Fighting to SGR
SGR 1 DoS
Pass 1
LBM 1 DoS – Spent 1 DP = +1d kept to Stay in Saddle, +1 Injury
SGR 2 DoS
Total 5 DoS

Tie breaker tilt time!

They both got 5 DoS

Let's hope lord Benedict has 1 DP left just in case Smile

While I approve of another tilt, I am also partial towards having it as tradition in this format that if one has the same DoS after three tilts, a draw is awarded (no ransom), though the champion remains champion.

After seeing Baelon's suggestion and with our generous Narrator's approval I will shift the last DP to where it is most effective, Gilbar's attack roll. So 5 DoS to 4 DoS, no injury and onto my ass whipping- I mean next joust.

Ser Artor Bigglestone bearing the coat of arms of his house an argent and azure per pale challenges lord Benedict hoping his tactic of waiting for a couple of strong contenders to come first to soften the lord for his lance to find the mark. This has made Artor confident to risk his stance and balance for a good hit.

The gods had seen him through to here. From here on he would need to make his own fate. With a renewed ferocity Ben gives up some of that defensive posture that had did little for him.

The broken lances pepper the knights. Ben rides through the cloud of tooth picks. Artor falls quickly to the ground as his horse continues, riderless.

Ben knew the quality of challengers would begin to diminsh, so opted to out maneuver the desperate and overreaching. Day one ended with two on their back. The next two days showed a mix of the gray and the Green. All fell fast and hard. Ben graciuosly assisted all who would take his hand.
